XCTEQ operates https://www.xcteq.co.uk. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information we receive from users of the Site.

We use your Personal Information only for providing and improving the Site. By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. These sites use Google Analytics for gaining insight into web analytics. Google Analytics will add cookies to your web session. You can opt out of this using https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

Use Adsense, which use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to the blog and other sites, including the DoubleClick cookie. You can amend these options using https://adssettings.google.com

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We are not collecting any data from the user apart from comments which are public at the moment but we have some other external services like google analytics, Disqus, Leanpub etc on our website. We may use the newsletter to collect emails in the future.

If asked then we may have to comply with any legal law authority requirements to release information. Since we don’t store any of your information offline, that would be done via a 3rd party data controller.

We have in the past moved email addresses from one data controller to another as part of a migration of our email list. This is covered by the terms and conditions of the data controller. We do not store your email addresses offline.

We share information about you with third parties when you give us consent to do so. For example, if you attend an XCTEQ event we share the data you’ve provided with partners who sponsor the event.

In exceptional circumstances we may share information about you with a third party if we believe that sharing is necessary to (a) comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request, including to meet national security requirements, (b) enforce our agreements, policies, and terms of service, (c) protect the security or integrity of our services.

Our website may include links that direct you to other websites or services whose privacy practices may differ from ours. If you submit information to any of those third-party sites, your information is governed by their privacy policies, not this one. 

To provide our services to you

We are always looking for ways to improve our services and we use the information to do this to identify trends, usage, and areas for improvement.

These communications are part of our services and in most cases, you cannot opt out of them. For email, every email sent via the newsletter will have an unsubscribe link at the bottom where you can opt-out of any future communication from us.

Length of Storage of data

  • whenever we send an email via SendInBlue, we delete from SendInBlue anyone who has unsubscribed from the mailing list
